Hiring Folks…Sucks

Good Lord, I didn’t think it’d be this hard to hire people. Granted the environment of my BDC (Call Center) might not be that inviting, but damn.

Allow me the pleasure to share who I run across there are only a few types (thank you sweet baby Jesus)

The Drug/Background failure

She wasn’t the first one to look me in the eye and fool me. She was the second one.

The call came this time from the testing center. Testing center: “Her urine is below room temperature” Me:“Well…what the fuck does that mean” Testing center: “It’s someone else’s urine or she’s dead”

Being this happened twice to me, I had to admire the separate approaches to dealing with the situation that my potential employees took to the situation. One inboxed me on Facebook, the other made a run for it! Neither got the job.

I have to say the potential employee I admire the most is the one who came out and said, “Well, that’s going to be a problem, I smoke ALOT of POT!”

I can respect that honesty.

The I want to be Boss

This one happens more often that you’d think, cause it take a lot of guts to try, evidently the younger generation has guts. I’ve had at least three interviewees ask me if they could be the manger. Interviewee: “I really want to run the call center” Me: “Well, that’s what I do” Interviewee: “Think that could change?” Me: “I guess I could die or get promoted” Interviewee: “That’d be AWESOME!”

They never made it to the drug testing stage…

The get the job and don’t show up first day
