Highs and Lows of Writing on Medium
Since I started my journey on Medium, I’ve maintained a daily writing habit, and within two weeks, I witnessed growth in my audience, which gave me more motivation.
Initially, my creativity flowed effortlessly, with every life experience inspiring words and lessons to share.
With time passing by, I also tried to write more about what people would find relatable, to be able to touch their hearts and minds.
However, sometimes, the story I found most impactful had far less success than the others, so I still have to work on getting to know my readers.
As I published articles every day, I would receive notifications daily, which gave me a dopamine boost.
As I prepared to travel abroad for the weekend, I decided to take a break from writing, confident I’d return with fresh perspectives and ideas.
Coming back from my break, my latest article didn’t get the response I hoped for.
Now, it feels like I’m starting over.
I can tell things have changed, both in how readers engage and in my own desire to write.
After those few days without writing, I feel like I’ve lost my spark. Writing this article, I hope to find it again.
I’ve realized how much I enjoy writing every day and losing that routine feels like a step backward.
My time on Medium has been a real emotional ride. From the excitement of connecting with readers to the struggle of finding ideas.
Even with all that’s happened, I’ve learned the most important skill: patience.
On Medium nothing is certain; there are highs and lows. But trust in the platform, in your writing abilities, stay consistent, keep improving, and above all, be patient.
This is how you will succeed as a writer on Medium.
Thank you for reading!
Sending Love,
