Higher Self’s Body-Connection
Channeling Divine Will: A Latifa
Higher Self/Body Interface
Our Earthly Self or ego is so busy thinking and hanging onto stuff that it cannot experience how the Higher Self’s Spirit connection is with us constantly. There is a way to suspend ego and connect with Higher Self’s Divine Will.
Latifas
A latifa is a Sufi word meaning the body’s subtle energy center. It is the Sufi equivalent to the Hindu chakra. I am familiar with:
1.“Wish” 2. “Hope” 3. “Believe” 4. “Accept-Obey” 5. “Love”
The Three Expressions of Latifas
Naf or Ego, Qalb or Heart, and Ruh or Spirit/Higher Self. In Sufi tradition, specifically through the Mevlevi Order of Dervish, a version of this practice is followed.
Naf
Naf or Ego has its place in the Heart’s world. The practice of opening the latifas integrates all ego desires through the Heart. Naf/Ego is a powerful force that, once integrated by Qalb/Heart and Ruh/Spirit-Higher Self, aligns human purpose with 5D worlds.
Seven layers compose the Naf. The lowest level is a realm without choice — one of slavery to evil deeds. The highest level of the seven layers is Naf’s connection to the Divine or Higher Self.
Qalb
Qalb or heart is the opening to infinite knowledge through unconditional love (or the Qalb). There is a catch, of course. The Naf is always in conflict with itself unless it is connected to the Higher Self via the Qalb/Heart. If there is a Qalb/Heart disconnect from the Divine or Higher Self, then the heart is pulled into the wheel of repeating desire which never fulfills itself: Do, Get Rejected, Repeat (as in Wash, Rinse, Repeat).
The Heart is not the organ of the heart per se, but the gateway between the lower world of the Naf and the higher world of the Divine/Ruh and one’s life purpose. The Divine can include the Naf/ego through unconditional love, but the Naf or ego cannot include the Divine no matter how much it tries.
The Heart / Love — the Qalb is at the Solar Plexus, below the heart/sternum in the center of the chest between the ribs.

Ruh
Is the Spirit of Higher Self whose role falls under dual actions.
Action One: Aspects of the Higher Self struggle with 5 to 6 levels of the Naf/Ego to find a balance with desires and attachments.
Action Two: As the struggle diminishes and balance stabilizes, the first level of the Higher Self can access three more levels of the Higher Self in the body: • Sir — the continuing practice of releasing Ego, knowing it will return until Ego finds its place with the Higher Self. This may happen when the individual surrenders to purpose (as in life‘s divine purpose). Surrender and sacrifice of Ego’s identification with desire and lesser mundane and negative emotions are actions that can be taken to balance the seemingly endless struggle with lower self Naf needs. Sir is also at the Solar Plexus of unconditional love in those moments without the struggles of the Naf. • Khafi — Ego can be sacrificed, albeit temporarily. It is the stage of renewal, rebirth and resurrection where Christ Consciousness dwells. Khafi is in the middle of the forehead above the eyebrows (akin to the 3rd Eye). • Akhfa— is the Highest of the Higher Self while connected to the human body. This is the embodiment of Unconditional Love, Full Presence, Compassion, and Wisdom. It is a state of “nothingness”. The physical location of the Akhfa is the crown at the top of the head.
Channeling Divine Will
Individuals who have strong self-will or are considered “stubborn” are some of the best candidates for channeling Divine Will. They have the most to lose and gain by experiencing Divine or Higher Will.
The Calling from Purpose
There are those amongst us who, as children, we knew that purpose was calling us. We searched, explored, and diverged from the paths that society expected us to follow. Often there was a merging of Purpose (from the divine) with an ongoing purpose. These children may have been naturals — as indigo or crystal children, and if you are amongst these groups, you may have felt and still feel — lucky.
Whether you are a natural or a seeker and you thirst for Purpose, the divine aspect of your being will either find it or let it find you by all the four sources:
Learning — books, courses, teachings, and constant love of continuous learning. Struggle — creating energy through struggle by holding space for the witness to be recognized and grow so that being may form. Sacrifice/Surrender — the ability to access Divine or Higher Will to sacrifice Ego in the moment until it may be surrendered for moments. Help — asking for help from the Divine without expecting to receive any help. This involves holding sacred space for a time and then releasing it.
Perhaps the most difficult mode of finding and/or surrendering to Purpose is a refusal to sacrifice self-will that may be characteristic of the phrase:
I want it all and an entitlement that may accompany it.
This is where sacrifice of self-will to allow Divine Will to be channeled through us is important.
Through a Decision Exercise, through sensing presence in my body visualized for a specific time the following day, I vow to execute a decision to cut away ego and let a bit of Higher Will manifest. I coupled this with the Latifa: “Accept-Obey” an inch below the base of the throat during a task of listening to another.
It was a joyous liberation from the warring struggle within aspects of the Naf/Ego. Love and understanding flowed through me for me and for the person I was with.
Nine years later, I asked Spirit what was supposed to do with my life and did not expect an answer. I received one and surrendered to my purpose as a healer. That surrender has sustained me and brought joy and continued Higher Purpose into my life.
It’s a blessing.
