Hello there, I’m Paddy, nice to meet you!

I’m from Dublin, Ireland and I’ve been writing on Medium for nearly two years now. Wow. I just realised that. Time flies when you’re having fun I guess!

When I first started writing on Medium, I was extremely fortunate to encounter ‘Serious Scrum’, a publication where I could collaborate on writing posts with a passionate community of like-minded writers and editors.

The very first post I added to that publication was about Scrum. It relates to many topics that still interest me: personal values, psychology and culture. Basically I’m really interested in what makes people tick and how people apply that in work.

Writing for Serious Scrum has allowed me to explore a huge range of topics that I have enjoyed connecting to Scrum and the work of Scrum Teams, from Remote Working to the Japanese Language and even Irish Whiskey.

I also write the occasional travel story, and am very interested to experiment with more writing in this area. At first glance, jumping from Scrum to Travel might seem quite lateral. However, in my own experience, they are both ways to learn more about people and what makes ‘em tick.

This is why I write.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience writing over the last couple of years, and I’m very interested to grow and progress further as a writer here at ILLUMINATION. Thanks to Dr Mehmet Yildiz for the invitation to this interesting project!

Scrum Masters talk about feedback as a way to fuel improvement. With that in mind, I’m really looking forward to joining the conversation here at a new publication to hear different perspectives and discover new ways to learn and improve.

I’m already looking forward to joining the conversation!
