Hi! I’m a Content Writer and I Use Jasper
Admitting that I use Jasper is like joining AA and saying I’m an alcoholic

I first heard about Jasper AI (formerly known as Jarvis AI), in the summer of 2021.
The blogging Facebook groups I belong to were talking about this writing AI assistant tool, and all of a sudden I was seeing a ton of YouTube videos of people I follow talk about using an AI writing tool to write blog posts for them.
I was intrigued. As a content writer for the past 8 years, writing for big brands like Walmart, Smart Blogger and Zapier, I wasn’t sure if a robot would be able to write content like I write for my clients.
So I signed up for Jasper and learned how to use the writing assistant tool and….I hated it.
Jasper would write short, fluffy sentences and constantly repeat itself in sentence structure. I thought, does anyone care????
Did a unicorn DIE and now everyone is just using Jasper to write fluffy, wordy, UN-valuable content and thinking this is amazing???
I was shocked. But what got me more upset was how content writers were using it for client work.

How could they do this? Do people not see how horrible Jasper is?
After that, I stopped my subscription. I rebelled.
I’m a high-paying content writer and no robot will out-perform me!
So, I went on my merrily way and wrote amazing kick-ass content like this one:

Jasper can’t do facts, eh? Well, I can!
Jasper has a hard time writing long content with varied sentence structure, well watch what I can do! 3,181 words…thank you very much.
Yeah, you can say I was vehemently against using an AI writing assistant tool for writing.
But Then This Happened…

I started hearing more about Jasper AI.
Jasper integrated with Surfer SEO and Grammarly….hmm…interesting.
Jasper started adding more templates like the paragraph generator that helps you write long form content…..okay….I see you Jasper….
And then this happened….
I found Jasper recipes from other content writers like me…who understood the limitations of Jasper.
They created recipes to help Jasper write better content.

These recipes allowed me the freedom to write personal content AND get Jasper to write lengthy content.
I also learned more about different commands I can use like:
>write a personal scenario in the 2nd person about being scared to give birth
[Here is what Jasper gave me using the long output function]
You are scared to give birth. You aren’t sure what to expect and you’re worried about the pain. You’ve heard stories from friends about how painful it was for them and you aren’t sure if you are going to be able to handle the pain. You don’t know what to do to prepare for birth.
Don’t worry, you are not alone. Many women feel the same way before they give birth. There are some things that you can do to help prepare yourself for birth and make it a little less scary.
Not bad eh?
I could work with this. I can add my personal account in this and jazz up some sentences, but overall, I’m impressed.
I had no idea that you can tell Jasper to tell a personal story from a 2nd person viewpoint. Game changer.
But This is What Sold Me…
I started a niche site for affiliate marketing for 2022.
I already own several blogs, so I can’t devote much time to this new niche site.
I decided that I would rely on Jasper to help me write content. It’s a dance mostly — I mostly write the introductions to each subtopic or the blog post and Jasper adds some words.
I was in a groove and created highly valuable list posts for affiliate marketing on my new niche site. The only thing was, I don’t enjoy writing product descriptions because it takes a long time to do and I hate doing them (that’s why I’m not an eCommerce writer!).
But, how can I tell Jasper about these products and write about them? Well, I realized there is a Product Description template.
Plug in the product name and list some features/benefits you find the the product page and watch Jasper work.

What About Client Work?
For high paying clients, this is a big no no.
Jasper is still not a strong writing assistant tool. It can’t take complex ideas like this one I wrote for a client on overly-sponsored IG ads, and create content someone would pay for.
But for clients that need content for their niche sites or use content writing agencies, I see no problem using it. It’s also okay for your personal blog if you’re doing affiliate marketing or need to lengthen a blog post (I used Jasper for this in one of my personal posts).
Hi! I’m a Content Writer and I Use Jasper…
Declaring that I use Jasper makes me a tad anxious.
But I’m learning to embrace Jasper and use it as a TOOL and not to write my ENTIRE blog post.
