Summary

The web content is a reflective poem that critiques the role of money in society and its impact on human values and survival.

Abstract

The poem titled "Hey Money, Do You Have Any Cents?" delves into the paradoxical nature of money, questioning its moral value and its grip on humanity's basic needs and desires. It highlights the transformation of money from a simple means of exchange to an omnipresent force that dictates human worth and behavior. The author, Aswin, challenges the notion that money is a measure of success and criticizes the greed and corruption it can breed. The piece also touches on the idea that money has become an "invisible god," overshadowing respect and human qualities, and calls for a reevaluation of what truly drives human ambition beyond the pursuit of wealth.

Opinions

  • The author suggests that money has lost its original purpose, which was to facilitate trade for basic needs like food and honey, and has instead become an end in itself.
  • Money is personified as a destructive force that disrupts human qualities and respect, reducing everything to its monetary value.
  • The poem reflects on the absurdity of the global obsession with money, regardless of the currency, and how it has become a "clingy parasite" in human society.
  • It criticizes the societal hypocrisy that prioritizes money over respect and basic human decency, implying that money has corrupted the natural order of human interactions.
  • The author implies that the pursuit of money can lead to a loss of self, as people are willing to sacrifice their values for financial gain.
  • The poem questions whether individuals would still strive for their dreams in a world without money, suggesting that true motivation should come from within rather than from external financial rewards.
  • The author encourages readers to recognize the superficial nature of money and to focus on what truly matters in life, such as human connection and personal growth.

Hey Money, Do You Have Any Cents?

and the sense of what actually the world is running for?

Hey money, do you have any cents? Coz I can’t afford one and do you have any sense? cause I can’t tolerate none

Where were you?, money when our basic need back then is just food & honey

and

who are you? now our basic need for anything is money and more money to afford good food with honey

Do you have brothers and sisters in a family tree, money? hundreds, thousands, millions there’s no end to it any

people call you dollars, euros, pounds, from a different nationality you’re so loony that you do all the same under the lame name money

learnt what is partnership with you and many all I see is the damn title “How to make so on so money?”

Don’t act like a good guy when you’re listed on drugs, money people go mad and do anything from a side effect named ‘greedy’

you’re not a website for to shut down for a while but a stupid clingy parasite that stuck on us back in time

you mess with human qualities that ruined our life shall I introduce you some?, money are you ready?

Now, Respect is earned, when you are more earned, than, respect for all despite of background

enough of all hypnotism that you did very well people praise you, like the invisible god Go to hell!

you don’t have enough money to go back to medieval to know what drives them just an instinct of survival

stop overpowering the role of affordability to things there are still who suffer to afford basic things

Fly away, if you have some wings, sink deep, if you have some fins you, a piece of printed paper not a living thing

when thrown away or torn apart, it loses its meaning, Be aware and go forward you, lovely human being!

if money didn’t exist, would you still chase your dreams?
