Hey, Medium, What’s Up With Earnings in September?

Why the decrease since August?

My forever curious self is asking.

Like many of you, I watch my stats. Daily views, article performance, clap counts, response quantity, etc.

Since September 1st, assuming (I know, bad idea) that we would continue to see the fruits of our labor as writers continue on an even keel, I now see the numbers, earnings-wise, backsliding. For me, a 20% decrease.

Am I the only one seeing this?

I anticipated (because that’s what Medium does) a tweak or two to the algorithm, but this script flip is a bit unsettling.

So, maybe you, Medium, consider a memo or your version of a press spokesperson, make a showing at the lectern, and inform your audience, the ones paying your bills, what the hell is happening.

Please do that. It would help with the anxiety I’m sure that is growing within many of us. Or am I just imagining things?
