Here’s Why Chinese Billionaires Keep Disappearing
The only thing worse than dying is never being found

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Chinese Government.
That’s the exact line that hundreds of celebrities, influencers, authors, athletes, and billionaires use after they go missing in China.
It’s almost as if they’re being forced to say that? Hm.
Anybody that’s perceived to be bigger or more influential than the Chinese Communist Party is in their crosshairs. No one is above them. Not Jack Ma or any other celebrity in China.
And if you have a hard time believing that then just know that China has one of the lowest freedom indexes in the entire world. It’s almost at the North Korea level it’s so bad.
“All of the Chinese Billionaires only two things happen: Jail or die,” said exiled Chinese billionaire Miles Kwok. “One week jail, another week they might kill you.”
China is a nightmare that keeps getting worse.
Here’s why you don’t want to rise to the top in China.
China Created a New Form of Government, One Perfect for Kidnapping Celebrities
Both Hitler and Stalin were outdone by Chairman Mao.
Under Marxism and Mao, 45 million Chinese people were killed from 1958 to 1962 making it the largest episode of mass murder ever recorded.
After Mao finally kicked the bucket and the fall of the Soviet Union years later, China began to realize individual freedom in relation to national wealth. Capitalism made America the leading superpower and, in turn, China began to adopt capitalism itself in the early 1980s under President Deng Xiaoping.
“They [China] gives you some amount of freedom because that unlocks economic activity,” said former Brigadier General Robert Spalding in an interview with YouTuber Jake Tran.“Your pursuit of wealth as an individual actually is a force that Deng Xiaoping released.”
However, communism and authoritarianism crept their way back into China like a bad ex-girlfriend. Under the current President of China, Xi Jinping, authoritarianism is back and better than ever.
China now has a hybrid model: free-market capitalism to help their economy grow but not enough that people forget who’s really running the show there.
Unimportant things like freedom of speech, creativity, and financial freedom conflict with the CCP’s control. Who needs them?
All of the Missing Celebrities and Billionaires
“Among the richest men in China, few have good endings.” — Jack Ma
Here are 3 More Inspiring Quotes from Jack Ma in 2021:
- “Who are you?”
- “What are you doing ?”
- “Where are you taking me ?”
In China, when you outshine the CCP or begin to criticize them you’re kidnapped by men in vans and reeducated appropriately. If you’ve been extra naughty like author Gui Minhai who wrote gossip books about the CCP you go to prison for 10 years.
For Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba and the richest individual in Asia, with about a $35.8 billion fortune, his abduction was a long time coming.
After speaking negatively of the CCP, Ma disappeared for three months before appearing in the public eye. A CNBC article stated he was just “lying low,” but it was later found by Forbes that he was in a detention center and likely reprimanded.
We’ll never know exactly what happened to Ma, but at least he didn’t end up like any of these Chinese disappearances —
- Vicki Zhao (The Kim Kardashian of China): Vicki Zhao is a pop singer, international actress and Chinese national icon with 80 million followers on her social media. The CCP didn’t like how much attention Zhao was getting, so all of her films were removed from Chinese video streaming platforms and she went missing for nearly six months.
- Chen Qiushi (Wuhan COVID-19 Journalist): After promising in a YouTube video, “I will use my camera to document what is really happening [in Wuhan]. I promise I won’t… cover up the truth,” Qiushi was never heard from again.
- Xiao Jianhua (Billionaire Businessman): Xiao was rolled away in a wheelchair with his head covered by Chinese police agents. He was never seen again, of course, and now the Chinese government is dismantling his billion-dollar empire.
- Peng Shui (International Tennis Star): Shui accused a former CCP official of raping her in a social media post. Not good. Peng Shui went missing shortly after and the words “Peng” “Shui” and “Tennis” were impossible to search for on the internet in China. She finally returned only to apologize for her behavior and acted like she was completely brainwashed.
- Ren Zhiqiang (Real Estate Mogul): Zhiqiang made several heinous anti-communist remarks, including calling the great leader “stupid,” in a blog post. He went missing for 7 months shortly after. All of his social media was deleted including his 37 million followers. He never came back and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Also, all of his assets were seized and he was fined millions.
Final Thoughts
The Chinese Communist Party led by President Xi Jinping is the largest threat to the Chinese people. They exploit them, kidnap them, and even put them in concentration camps.
No one is above the CCP, not even if you rise to the top.
Sure: Internet censorship, daily control of privacy, environmental devastation and limited freedom of speech pretty much sums up all Western nations too.
But we aren’t China.
And we should be absolutely terrified to see them slowly take control of the world, or, maybe even worse, for us to eventually become them in terms of authoritarianism.
Big Brother is watching you.
