Here’s What’s Happening with My New Money Making Opportunity!
Do you want the latest update about another place to get paid for your stories?

One of my recent stories told readers about a new money making opportunity that I decided to take advantage of, and I promised to provide regular updates.
WELL I HAVE SOME REALLY COOL NEWS TO SHARE, in addition to the status of my new membership.
Like so many other writers on Medium, I often look outside the community, to discover more ways to get paid for my stories.
Sometimes, I just like to browse and see what’s available, with no real intention of taking things any further. But this newest writing opportunity really sounds like a worthwhile endeavor.
In fact…
It sounded so good, that I wrote several stories about it; providing the details as I learned them along the way.
The last related story I published, provided some real food for thought about how Medium members might be able to benefit from the Marker website.
The story asks the question: Could this Be the Way to Earn Money from All those External Views?
Before I get into what’s happening with my new membership and updates about the Marker website, lets talk a little about…
How to make money on Medium
How to make money online is a topic that is probably one of the most searched questions and phrases ever typed in a Google search engine.
Even Medium writers who frown at stories that focus on improving stats and earnings, can’t argue that these type of stories are what accounts for the most money being made around here.
It’s no wonder that all the stories about how to make money on Medium, often tell you to write about making money.
I for one, just love writing AND reading these kinds of stories, and as of right now, I have no intention to stop doing either.
I freely admit that I do this for a number of reasons, some of which are definitely self-serving.
- Do I want to earn more money? Hell yes.
- Do I like to brag and show off a little. Yep, that too.
But besides all that, I also like writing and talking about the things I discover, in hopes of preventing some other poor writer from making the mistakes I made.
I continually do this on Medium; creating content that highlights some of my most effective practices and that I recommend to others.
One example is the former story that I wrote a short time ago, which included my little cheat sheet that I call: “Where’s the Bucks?”
This handy little list of useful titles and links can possibly save new Medium writers a lot of time and trouble, when it comes to topics like:
- Learning how to write and promote your stories
- Making decisions about productivity and publishing what you write
- Dealing with the policies, procedures, and processes related to publishing and earning money for what you write
But while this particular list of helpful stories can benefit you on the Medium website, what about writing and making money outside the Medium community?
My new money making opportunity is promising
The most important NEWS I want to share about the site is the fact that my initial understanding about the stories they publish was correct!
In my first story about this new site, I indicated they accept previously published stories.
I later corrected myself, believing that I made a mistake because I saw the word “original” somewhere and understood it to mean only newly published stories.
But -
Now I want to correct myself again, because I came across the following information on the website.
As you can see, it clearly says they take “old articles”.

This may sound like great news to many of us writers on Medium, but even still, keep in mind this important fact:
Web owners are looking for evergreen stories that are timeless, so you may still have to refine your previously published stories.
If done correctly, this money making opportunity may end up being more lucrative than you can imagine.
This story is not meant to hype up my newest discovery, or claim that it’s the answer to all your earning issues.
To clarify:
I’m a new member to the site, and have yet to earn any money, because I only just published my first story there.
Just as I mentioned in one of the related stories, I didn’t submit anything right away.
After learning my lesson with News Break, Vocal Media, and Quora, I’m curious, but skeptical.
That is why I waited before finally getting around to uploading a story to the website (just one).
I submitted the story on Monday (9/19/22) and the story was reviewed and approved within 24 hours.
Not a bad turnaround time…
I’m happy to announce that my story was accepted, and I’m pretty sure it’s because I took time and decisive effort in crafting a story that I believe website owners might be interested in purchasing.
Follow the guidelines that help make your story marketable
Since I’m just getting started with this new site, I don’t have any ideal just how many of my stories will be accepted, but I suspect that I can help increase the odds in my favor.
The Marker website provides guidelines on what you need to do, to have stories accepted, and plus make them more marketable.
After all, since they receive a percentage of the money that you earn with your stories, they definitely want you to succeed.
I hope that if I continue to write and modify stories according to their guidelines, my stories will all be approved and begin to start earning me money.
In case you’re wondering what story I submitted, and how I got the story to pass the review process, be sure to read my Medium story:
How to Turn a Previously Published Story Into An Evergreen Money Maker!
But for now, let me walk you through the process.
Here’s what happened after I submitted my story
First, I noted and confirmed that my story submission was Approved:

As you can see from the Contributor Details menu on the left, the information being displayed is located on the “Contributor Articles” page (which is also in bold).
The word in green shows the “Approved” status (right next to the grayed out “In Review” and “Rejected” options).
Notice also, just above the title of my story, it displays a link to the category the story has been listed in.
Then, I clicked on the “Health” category link and visited the page where my story is listed with others in the same category:

Last, I clicked the preview link and viewed the story, directly from the marketplace page:

When I viewed the page, I was able to see other pertinent details that are on display for any perspective buyers.
For instance,
- The article’s word count is displayed (1519 words)
- Buyers can select the story and choose to pay a flat $19 fee for the use of a single article
- Buyers can select the story and continue shopping, then choose to pay a subscription fee for multiple articles.
Final Thoughts
The fact that this first story was approved and now on sale on the Marker website, is all the incentive I need.
Yes, I’ll be submitting more stories, BUT, I still plan to take my time and monitor my progress.
I plan to:
Get more familiar with the site, by analyzing the stories I see there, from a buyer’s perspective.
