LET’S GET PAID! — Make Money Online

Here’s One Way to Start Earning Money on Medium Even if You’re NOT a Writer!

Are you a paid member on Medium, who only joined so you could read stories?

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how to help new members, and that includes those who aren’t writers.

What’s that you say? NOT writers?

Yep, that’s what I said. Because believe it or not; not every person who signs up to join the Medium community is necessarily a writer.

I use the word necessarily, because in my opinion, all of us are writers, in our own way.

But my opinion aside, there are plenty of people who stumble onto the platform, and end up joining Medium, solely to have access to stories.

In the process of all the reading they’ll be doing, they’ll also be leaving comments and making connections with various writers in the community.

For these Reader members; building a following for themselves is not only suggested, but it’s encouraged.

This is especially so, if you’re the kind of avid reader who likes to comment on what they read.

Loyal readers are a valuable commodity that is in demand on Medium. Why shouldn’t they be in a position to earn a little money as well?

With that in mind, I decided to figure out a creative way in which those avid and devoted readers can actually earn some money, even though they don’t consider themselves writers.

Here’s what I came up with…

Start making this a practice if you’re a Reader who wants to get paid

Just like I mentioned above, Readers have an opportunity to build a valuable following, the same as writers do.

This can come from creating and maintaining a rapport with writers that you especially like to read.

Your comments can start helping you earn money.

No, you can’t get paid outright for the comments you leave, or interactions you have in the community. But there is still a way you can earn money from those comments.

TRY DOING THIS:

  • At the end of each week, you can write one simple story, containing the comments from the stories you responded to.
  • You can restate those comments — or even provide screen shots of the comments— and then just write a brief statement about the writer or about the comments you already left.

EASY PEASY!

Doing this will prompt a notification to go to the writers whose stories you mention; causing them to come read and support the story you publish that week.

You don’t have to be an experienced writer to do this. And what’s so great is, the more you perform this weekly task:

  • The better you get at writing
  • The more your content will grow
  • The more you’ll begin to earn
  • The more connections you’ll make with other writers

Does this sound doable? Why not give it some thought all you Readers? It could really work.

If ever there was an “aha!” moment, this is it!

Just think. Pretty soon, you could start being just as obsessed with your stats as the rest of us around here on Medium! LOL

How do you easily locate all the Responses you’ve made?

In order to locate a list of all the comments you’ve left on the platform, simply click the “stories” link and navigate over to that page.

These screen shots I took will show you how:

When you get there, even though your story and draft list may be empty, you should still see the option to view your “Responses”.

Just click “Responses” and a list will appear, displaying ALL your comments and interactions down the entire page.

Is this section of your Profile, that contains the Responses is news to you, then it’s time you start getting more familiar with it.

Doing so, will probably give you more and more creative ideas about how to earn money on Medium, even though you’re not a writer.

Final Thoughts

Several recent stories of mine, discuss my joy and excitement about acquiring three Referred Members.

Thanks to one of the newest alert features on Medium, we can actually identify exactly who our new referred members are.

In fact, I even discovered a fourth new member today, by the name of Tejasvi Roy, and I suspect I’ll soon be seeing many more.

With the start of another new year just ahead of us; new aspiring writers are joining the website, eager to generate an online income.

But just like Tejasvi, who hasn’t published any stories yet, some individuals are taking their time, before jumping straight into the writing pool.

Then again, some of those new members are only coming on board so they can read as many Medium stories as they want to.

Does that mean they’re not able to make a buck on the website, simply because they’re not writers? Not at all.

As a matter of fact, you new (qualified) members can also earn commissions, when you refer new writers and other readers like yourself.

*Qualified = having met the follower quota

So if you’re a new member who came here to be a Reader, start telling others about Medium, and while you’re at it, be sure to give this idea of mine a try.

The end results just might surprise you guys :-)
