Here’s One Trick to Calmness in 1 Minute
Emotions can hit hard, like heavy rocks disturbing a peaceful lake.
They sweep us away, overwhelm us, and pull us into the depths of our thoughts.
I’ve found a simple trick to stay calm when they strike, which you might find useful.
Step 1: Breathe
Take a slow, deep breath. Feel the air as you breathe. As you exhale, drop and relax your shoulders.
Step 2: Bring hands into fists
Place the tip of your thumb against the base of your ring finger on both hands, then wrap your other fingers around your thumb. This helps bring more awareness to your body.
Step 3: Give yourself one minute
Keep up the slow, deep breaths and relaxed shoulders as you hold your fists, for a minute.
As your body relaxes and you become more aware of it, you’re allowing your thoughts and emotions to fade away, leaving you feeling calm again.
