Here’s Exactly How I Figured Out What My Business Was Going To Be
I’m not sugar-coating anything either, beware
Just like every other kid on planet Earth, I was prematurely interrogated.
Blindly questioned about:
- What I would become.
- What I would do with my life.
- What it was that I wanted to be when I “grew up.”
All of it made me want to “throw up.” Even to this day. I feel like that’s all anyone cares about.
I deliver pizza to the lady down the street. “How’s the job search going? What are you going to do now?” Blah, blah, blah.
Here’s a question: Should I rub my crystal balls?
Excuse me if I’m being harsh, but c’mon. How the heck am I supposed to know? I cannot tell the future.
That was the moment I knew I would not fall in line.
I needed to start a business.
The Doubt
“Starting a business is daunting.”
Yeah, I thought so too. Until I stumbled upon the proper definition of a business. To me, it’s something you do that makes money (besides your job).
It’s not as complicated as you think.
Yet people still like to take part in the jargon: “It’s not the right time. It’s too difficult, you’ll never make it.”
Don’t listen to them. What do they know? Running a business looks different for everyone.
Plus, the world is full of doubt.
Don’t let that rain on your parade. I didn’t, and it turned out to be sunny!
The Start
My start was completely accidental.
The funny part is when I began I didn’t even realize it. I just wrote down my thoughts after Jiu-Jitsu class and posted them on the internet.
Never in a million years did I think I’d ever earn a penny.
Then I took a stroll down Self-Improvement Street…
I tailored one of my Jiu-Jitsu articles to the self-improvement community and it got accepted into a large publication (Better Humans). Then, curated.
I was getting a massive response.
A couple of months later, that one article had earned over $100 alone.
Then I wrote another, then another. I now have 3 articles that have crossed the $100 mark.
That’s when I came to my senses.
The Realization
The realization that I could make money from digital writing was astonishing.
Could it be possible? That’s what I asked myself. “Surely not,” I thought.
Well, wrong I was (as usual).
Even though I had seen a few dollars rolling in, I remained skeptical.
Skeptical of the fact that I could keep this up.
As I continuously prove myself wrong, my attitude is shifting. I’m beginning to think that this could become more of a business than I had anticipated.
You can do this too! After all, that’s why I’m writing about it.
Next, I formulated a plan.
The Plan
Keep it simple.
I want to help people do what I do while doing it. Now that I’ve earned a few bucks for my digital writing, I managed to scrape up some credibility.
It’s time to take things to the next level!
Easier said than done.

In my opinion, attention is everything.
If you can build a following, there is utmost potential for what you can accomplish as a creator. I’m only beginning to truly understand this.

Everyone wants to attain freedom.
You do it by starting a business. I think that’s super key to designing a flexible life. It’s not easy, though.
You’ll need to take it slow.
I am the king of wanting to rush everything and the truth is, I found my business by allowing it to find me. Naturally. Here’s how I did that:
- Stay open to ideas
- Follow your gut
- Watch for patterns
- Jump on opportunities
The reality is, that you don’t know what’s coming.
