Here is How You Start Your
Writing Day
Start typing at 5 AM is not the only way to do it.
When you read advice about writing, many authors say get up and start typing. Nothing wrong with getting up, but is it motivational?
I think there is a better way.
Try this instead.
Before dawn breaks, go outside. Suck in the fresh morning air, deeply into your lungs. Exhale slowly. Do it five times.
Stretch your body. Make a few yoga moves.
Pull out your smart camera. Dawn will break soon.
You can see the underside of the white clouds in the East. The Sun is brightening their underside.
Suddenly the white streaks become Pink. Quickly, take your shot with your camera. You only have a second.
In your mind, you can hear Ferde Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite.
This is the supreme moment of your morning stretch; refreshed now and ready to start your writing day.
Go back to your room and type away. If inspiration lags, pull out your camera and take a quick look at your Sunrise shot and be re-inspired. Start typing again.
