Here Comes the Moon
This poem is about: A special places we go to in order to think over big things. Do you have such a special place in your life? A place to escape to and reset your mind? A place that instantly grounds you, reminds you where you came from and resparks your inner flames? This is a poem about my special place, way up north from where I live now. On a lake shore, under a bright moon, at the foot of the small mountains that circle this lake and my soul
Here comes the moon, Glimmering white in the dark lake, Dancing with my shadow in the ripples, Welcoming me back to this place, Where I feel most peace, most at one, The mountain air cold kissing my warm face, The icy wind whispering my heart to calm, To beat to a rhythm where I can think once more, Across all I have come to be, From all that lays in front of and behind me, To find again that belief that I deserve to soar, Like I do right now, once more, At one, connected and belonging to it all, To the moon, to the lake and all I see, I breathe in, take the air, taste the cold, Hold the water, feel the moon, Move forward, go forward, now.
