Here Are Two Outcomes I Experienced While I Began My Writing Journey

I felt that writing was like embarking on a voyage into uncharted waters.

The possibilities are vast, and the outcomes, are as diverse as the writers themselves.

I had two options when I started writing, just like in life — the right or left path, the hard or easy way, obstacles or a smooth journey, etc.

Most of the time, we choose the easy option despite knowing it won’t give us the desired results. We do this to avoid stepping out of our comfort zones or putting in extra effort.

I took two approaches. Firstly, I opted for the easier one, but when I didn’t get the desired outcomes, I had to switch to the harder approach. In other words, I had to go the extra mile.

Path 1: A Journey of 1–2 Years

The rewards can be nothing short of extraordinary for those who persist in their writing endeavors. Picture this: after dedicating 1–2 years to the craft, you find yourself amid a tapestry of incredible opportunities.

The words you’ve penned have become a beacon, attracting the attention of like-minded individuals, publishers, and perhaps even opportunities that transcend the boundaries of your initial aspirations.

The magic lies not just in the act of writing but in the persistence and dedication that accompany it.

You gradually unlock doors that lead to unforeseen possibilities by consistently honing your craft. Whether it’s through building an online presence, submitting articles to reputable platforms, or connecting with fellow wordsmiths, the journey becomes a testament to the transformative power of tenacity.

Path 2 : The Lure of Loneliness

On the flip side, many aspiring writers find themselves trapped in the solitude of their writing pursuits, ultimately leading to disillusionment and abandonment of the craft.

The isolation can be overwhelming, especially when one attempts to navigate the labyrinth of writing alone, devoid of a supportive community.

Compounding this isolation is the danger of falling prey to amateur teachings that promise viral success but lack the substance to sustain a meaningful writing journey.

Viral frameworks may provide momentary gratification, but they often prove to be fleeting and shallow, leaving the writer unfulfilled and yearning for more.

The key to avoiding this pitfall is recognizing the importance of mentorship and a supportive writing community. Learning from seasoned writers, participating in writing groups, and seeking constructive feedback are vital elements that can transform a solitary struggle into a collaborative and enriching experience.

First Thought

In the writing, the journey is as significant as the destination.

The path you choose — whether one of tenacity and growth or one marred by isolation and misguided teachings — shapes not only your skills as a writer but also the narrative of your life.

Embrace the challenges, seek guidance, and let the power of the pen be your guide through the labyrinth of words.

So, fellow wordsmiths, as you embark on your writing expedition, remember that the choice is yours.

Will you persist and discover the kaleidoscope of opportunities awaiting you, or will you succumb to the silence, leaving your tales untold?
