When my water broke, the bone-crushing pain skyrocketed.

Every cell in my body writhed and whined.

Seconds stretched into eternity.

“Push,” the midwife’s voice when echoed in the air, with a bloodcurdling scream, I ripped open my flesh, and freed my angel.

Her first breath marked my transition into motherhood.
