Helping Other People Deal With Their Trauma
Lots of people are suffering
Trauma can cause people to feel desperate
Sometimes when we see someone else facing hardship and trauma, we can only feel thankful that it is not us. We would not want such a horrible thing to happen to us or our loved ones. The trauma can be caused from economic losses, family relationships deteriorating, physical or mental health problems, or a number of other factors. Maybe we can help someone who is suffering.
Everyone will have a lot of problems throughout the course of a lifetime. Some will have worse problems than others. If someone you know is facing extreme trauma, it may be time to reach out and offer assistance.

They may feel lonely and isolated. It could have become a traumatic period of time for them. Mental health problems may have taken a toll.
A major traumatic event happened to American citizens and immigrants of Japanese heritage after the start of World War II. Because the United States was at war with Japan, people of Japanese descent were immediately looked upon as enemies and potential spies. Even though most of them were citizens born in the United States of America, they were reclassified as non-citizens or non-aliens.
Around 120,000 people living on the West Coast of the continental United States were forcibly removed from their homes. They were taken to temporary assembly centers which were generally horse tracks or fairgrounds where they lived in horse stalls until the ten concentration camps were completed in remote and desolate regions of the country. These people faced major trauma from being uprooted from their homes and losing their earthly possessions.
It was a racist act which caused huge emotional problems for many of those who were incarcerated. A few people were supportive and helped them.
Although they faced this horrible trauma, most of the people persevered. They did what they could to make the best of a terrible situation. Some people suffered and never recovered from the trauma. Others were able to come back from the trauma and live productive lives. They had to have hope and faith that their lot in life would get better. They had to persevere, and most did survive the ordeal. They want to make sure that no one else will have to face the same trauma as this injustice caused.
Most people are able to overcome traumatic events which happen in their lives. They don’t give up but keep trying.
Sometimes they could use a little help and encouragement. It might just be a simple act of kindness or a caring word of encouragement that will make their day. A phone call or email could be very beneficial to someone facing problems.
Being shown that someone is thinking about them and cares might make all the difference in the world to a person facing trauma. A little love and concern can go a long way. Life is better if someone cares.
