Helpful Resources for Survivors of Narcissistic Abuse and Domestic Violence
Work in progress
***I am still compiling this resource list. I wanted to go ahead and publish it so you wouldn’t have to wait to find the help you may need.***
Here are some of the resources I have found helpful as I moved from victim to survivor.
I have a feeling this list will change as I continue to learn more.
Feel free to drop your favorite resources in the comments so others can have access to them.
First Get to Safety
Thehotline.org Head to The National Domestic Violence Hotline website to find a number to call and speak with someone. You can also chat on the website.
Search for your local domestic violence organizations. Even if you don’t need to stay at a shelter they can help you with local resources and a safety plan.
Youtube Channels
There are lots of wonderful youtube channels out there to learn from. I’m sharing some of my favorites.
Doctor Ramani is awesome and you will see her mentioned by many in the narcissistic abuse awareness space. There’s a good reason why. She gives you what you need to know to understand a narcissist’s behavior and how it applies to you. She doesn’t stop there though. She also leads you forward and helps you learn what to do to protect yourself and change the way you relate to others.
Sheri gets right to the point with her videos. I just like her. You can tell she knows what it’s like to go through narc abuse and her thoughts are helpful to bring you to a better understanding. I wish she had more videos available.
Ryan shares his experience as a child who was cut off from his parent after divorce. He takes his heartbreaking experience to help parents who are being rejected stay connected to their children. No matter where you are in this battle you will find his wisdom helpful. He will help you understand what your children are going through and the best way for you to help them even if you are no longer in contact with them. He gives hope that someday these lost children will come back to themselves and find healing and a new relationship with their rejected parents.
*Honorable mentions. Sam Vaknin, usually challenges my beliefs in each of his videos. He can be difficult to watch until you are a little further along in your healing.

Courses
I took the SHERO: Your WILD Guide to Warrior course. I think it’s most appropriate for women who are early in their journey to freedom. This is for someone who either hasn’t left yet or is a year or less out from a relationship with an abuser. If you are free but still struggling to understand what happened and how to move forward this course can help.
I got most of the information in this course from the many resources I used and all the research I did. I am over three years out and have had the time to put into learning. It would have helped me to have this resource right after I left and would have helped me spend less time in that horrible in-between place of old life and new life.
Patrick Weaver Ministries. Patrick lived through a domestic violence situation as a child. His posts are encouraging and get right to the heart of different problems. He is a Christian but I think many of the things he writes are helpful to any woman who has survived domestic violence.
Websites
Bare Marriage Sheila Wray Gregoire is a Christian who is on a mission to bring awareness to the damage that self-help books and Christian beliefs about marriage cause those who are clinging to a difficult relationship while desperately trying to live the way God wants them to. When you are ready to dig into what the Bible says about relationships this is a wonderful resource to challenge your beliefs. She has a podcast, youtube channel, books, social media accounts, and website.
