My Stats have Totally Disappeared Part 3
It’s Been Four Days
It’s day four without any stats. How am I doing? Much better than expected, thank you! The universe is reminding me that when one door closes another opens — if you’re looking.
One Door Closes and Three Open
Part 2 of this series was submitted and published by Illumination in a matter of hours. I appreciate that especially during the busy holiday season. A big Mahalo (Hawaiian for a heartfelt thank you) to Ossai Ceejay for your gracious and prompt response! The Medium metaverse is very much alive!
The second door opening was being selected for Illumination’s Curation List #2 for December! Not just part two of this story but part one as well. These are my first Curations ever!! Go figure, how does that happen? “My Medium stats go missing in action,” this begets an inadvertent Medium prompt producing two articles which then get Curated! And I’m getting the message: “Stop looking for what’s missing and start looking for the opportunities that are opening doors left, right, and center!”
Door number three is just ajar and I can’t quite see what’s coming but I’m ready to receive whatever it might be.
It’s Always the Season for Giving
My biggest gift to self this holiday season is to read more of my favorite authors’ articles. Then follow up by sending them a thoughtful message for their finely crafted gifts throughout the year. Perhaps this is door number three? Or maybe it’s part of a mysterious string of events initiated by my attachment to Medium stats that no longer exist?
My attachment lingers but it’s also fading into the Solstice sunset. And in its place is a growing sense of community with all of you and us in our collective efforts to be heard, acknowledged, and rewarded for our creative writing. Giving is receiving and I can’t wait for that hot cup of chai on the lanai to take me deep into the Medium Kingdom of love, light, and humor.
So, What’s Next?
I truly don’t know. My friends at “[email protected]” are on a well deserved holiday and my email sits idling in the queue. So the better part of me pleads for more patience and redirects me to the enjoyment of exploring a few more of the thousand or so Medium publications.
I haven’t even scratched the surface of the gigantic collection of articles on humor, short stories, poetry, travel, nature, and consciousness to name a few.
There are times I think I’ll never buy another book (look out Amazon!). I’ll just keep my cell phone charged and dive into Medium’s open stacks of publications and mountains of articles wherever my soul resides!
And, there’s this other part of this being that says: “I want my stats back just to feel whole again,” You know, it’s that feeling that everything is in good order and functioning again in a world that is struggling with that concept right now.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you know of someone on Medium’s technical staff that could tweak this little problem right to heaven and restore the missing numbers before years end? My sincere appreciation and door number 4 is reserved just for you!
