Heavy Lifting

the power of tears

My tears are tiny drops of superpower to sympathize and empathize to find common ground and hold the space

for burdens piled upon your shoulders when your back is bent and weary your future uncertain and scary I have no answers

but do you need any? I sincerely doubt it. So, I listen and give amazing hugs until I’m not strong enough, then my tears do the heavy lifting.

Sometimes words and advice are not needed or wanted. Holding space, sharing tears, and just being there are the only things and the every things. We can’t fix everyone and every problem. It’s not our job to make what’s wrong right, even if we could. Sometimes being silent is the best support you can give. Silence and tears. I’ve always been a good listener. People are drawn to me and share their deepest secrets. It all started when I was a child. I didn’t understand it at the time but my ability to listen and cry were true superpowers.
