Healing From Abuse
You need a mantra
In December 2021 I wrote about using a mantra to help you stay free from an abusive past. I didn’t realize all of the information I left out of the article until I recorded a podcast about using mantras.
Below you will find a link to the first article I wrote which includes the updates I shared below.
Here Are The Updates
Examples of Mantras
God has a purpose for me and my children.
Change every negative thought into a positive thought.
Peace comes after the storm.
I admire your resolve.
Respond, don’t react.
I am okay in this moment.
It’s not forever, it’s for now.
Live in the moment.
I deserve to live in freedom and peace.
I trust God with my children.
I will wait on the Lord.
What to Do with Your Mantra
Make it into a sign to hang where you will see it every day. If you aren’t artistic you can either write it out neatly or print it from a word document.
Use it as a journal prompt.
Add it to the top of your daily journal entry.
Set it as a screen saver on your phone.
Put it at the top of your to-do list.
Tell it to others.
Say it out loud every day.
Include it in your prayers.
Say it to yourself while you look in the mirror.
Record a list of your mantras to listen to daily.
Final Reminder
A mantra helps you counter all of the destructive messages that play in your mind. It is a tool to inspire you to continue forward. It si also a tool to heal your mind. It helps you learn how to change from a negative thought stream to a positive one instead. As you pour this positive message into you thoughts it will elevate your thoughts from a place of doom and gloom to peace and joy.
This is a long-range healing tool. It will begin to help you right away but it pays off more the longer you are able to use it.
Try it and see if you like it.
