Heal
A Poem
Starts slowly, a cooling off period, anger leaving the scene stomach still in heavy knots, frozen in fight or flight pain, stuck in the loop of trauma — is it foolish to start over, clean slate, is it wise? I say yes, every time, because I believe in this love. I try to forgive, but not fully forget, to really stress the cosmic soul stuff, the importance of healing — how we both have to grow, to change, to work, we cannot let things become stuck, we cannot let things become routine, pattern, resentments, we can not practice and live in coping mechanisms forged in childhood and past pain that refuse to loosen their grip, refuse to let us go — no we must break free, not be held down — we cannot hurt or harm each other, we cannot cycle into our worst selves — this is not that — this is not what was before, this is not what ached in childhood this is coming together to get it right to take space for healing ourselves while we heal each other to ensure the fears don’t manifest another time, another time — no, just no — this is being vulnerable enough to say let’s try again, let us strive harder let us love deeper let us heal.
