He Knew All Their Secrets
Who was that guy?
“Who are you to tell me where to park my vehicle?” the man asked. He seemed perturbed to be given directions.
“Sir if you would just park your truck over there out of the way of the limo,” the usher requested as he pointed away from the front of the building. “There in the parking lot, Sir. Thank you.”
The man got out of his vehicle and turned to pick up a large white bag and a hooded jacket before slamming his truck door and walking quickly toward the assembly hall entrance. He showed a visible annoyance to see flowers crisscrossing both entry doors. Snatching at the door before acknowledging that it was locked then looked for the nearest entrance.
Side eyeing the usher calling out to him as he advanced towards him, he walked quickly. Looking at his watch as he moved quietly into the hallway and toward the back of the hall. No one seemed to notice him as he stayed in the shadows moving stealthily amid the assembled guests. Holding the bag across his lap and the jacket underneath his arm. “So, it is happening”, the man mumbled. He sat. Waiting…
“Saving My Love for You”, was being sung by the artist himself, as Liora approached the altar.
With a broad proud smile, as tears flowed down his face in warm streams, dripping noticeably onto his bowtie, shirt, and lapel, waiting for the love of his life, was her husband to be, standing at the altar.
The best man who was also his oldest brother, stepped over to offer Sam, the teary-eyed groom, a handkerchief. With calm and gentle movements he gestured his refusal and continued gazing lovingly upon his approaching bride, the woman who had captured his heart and all his love.
She gracefully wore a lavender satin silk v-neck high waist glowing gown with lavender embroidered taffeta overdress with sleeves tapering at her hand, that opened all the way to the bottom of the gown and matching shoes. Accessorizing her gown ensemble, a pair of three-tier silver teardrop earrings, and a classic veil, adorned with five-petal flower diamonds, covering half her face. She carried a purple calla lily bridal bouquet that was royally elegant.
“Even the angels knew…” as the words were uttered in song, his bride stepped in front of him. Being escorted down the aisle by her son was a great honor for Liora. The young man reached for Sam’s hand, then gently gave him his mother’s hand.
“I’d be saving my… love… for… you”. The song ended as Sam and Liora stood facing each other holding hands. The director held up her hands to request the attendees not to applaud after the singer finished. All in attendance complied with quiet.
The Maid of Honor took her best friend’s bouquet, lifted her veil, then stood back smiling. Sam quickly leaned in to kiss her cheek. Liora wiped both his wet cheeks with her thumbs as she held his face in her hands, erasing his tears. She whispered softly “We are most fortunate”. He felt her shaking with emotion. He felt fortunate, indeed.
“It is an honor and a privilege to see two people this much in love” — low moans and amen’s from the audience — ” and to be the one to join them in marriage”, she completed her announcement. The officiant spoke loudly and eloquently. As the ceremonial proceedings began, the two ushers signaled the audience to be seated. Quietly and in unison everyone sat. More mild roamings from the small audience.
The guest singer who was an honored guest sat with his band. The officiant announced, “Beloved we are gathered here today, to join Samuel and Liora in holy matrimony”, pausing and then looking around the assembly, she continued.
The people turned in vexed unison to see the disturbing disruptor …
“If anyone can give just cause why these two shall not be joined as husband and wife, you must speak now or forever hold your …” before she could finish her statement a loud crash and scraping sound came from the back of the assembly hall. Then hand clap, clap, clapping was heard from the back row. The people turned in vexed unison to see the disturbing disruptor …
