Have You Watched the Movie ‘Last Christmas’?

If not, don’t push Christmas aside without watching this

I watched it last night, and it’s on Prime. After seeing several promos for it on FB, I saved it to my watchlist. I decided to give it a try because I was too worn out from all our Christmas celebrations to follow a detailed mystery, and I’m not sorry I chose it.

However, here’s a warning.

After only a few minutes of watching I wasn’t sure if I’d like it because I’m not into cute young girls acting like ditsy blondes. (Goldie Hawn aside) I kept watching mainly because one of the main co-stars is an oriental woman who plays the owner of a Christmas store where Miss Ditsy works as an Elf, and she’s a HOOT.

She alone hooked me into continuing on with the movie.

The movie is British, so I turned on subtitles. I didn’t want to miss any of the dialogue.

The story soon begins to evolve when a love interest enters the girl's life, and it’s a very subtle introduction. Luckily he’s easy on the eyes and a wholesome character, which is a male element that’s sadly missing in many of Hollywood’s romantic movies.

Trust me here, any girl, old or young, could fall in love with this guy! Unless you’re into bad boys, in which case you may not even like him.

As the story unfolds, we find out the girl is sick. Not temporarily sick but seriously ill, although she refuses to take it seriously. Her careless attitude got on my nerves, but she eventually grows up some.

The key to enjoying this story is to watch clear through to the end. The last 15 minutes answer a lot of questions and wrap it up beautifully, so have some Kleenex handy — Yes, it’s a tear-jerker.

The show is described as a drama that’s fantasy, romance, and fun, and it’s all of this. Mr. Pam would’ve liked it too but I was tired to tempt him out of his man cave.

So pop that popcorn and grab some Kleenex. Cuddle down into your favorite chair or couch with a blankie and prepare to watch something that will make you laugh, wince, and cry.
