Have You Tried Chocolate Covered Ants?

My answer is a mystery

My great-grandma had a glass jar of candies she called “chocolate-covered ants.” They were delicious! Were they real ants? I’m not sure.

If my grandma was alive, I’d ask about her mom and that jar of fudge bugs.

Grandma, did I eat ants or chocolate-covered raisins?

A mystery.

I’ve seen this rare candy sold online. I didn’t know they were a thing outside of great-grandma’s kitchen. Considered a delicacy in some countries.

Great-gram was a wonderful lady. I remember the sweetness in her blueberry eyes. It’s weird to imagine her collecting ants and coating them with chocolate.

Maybe she purchased from a store and kept a steady supply.

Bugs are favored for global food shortages. We already eat bugs, with limited awareness. Prefer to keep it that way.
