Have You Reached A Writing Milestone Lately?
I have and I am celebrating.
This is an updated version of my original story.
As a family engagement influencer, I happily embrace the notion of being a continuous learner. Positioning myself as a life-long learner has enabled me to remain emerged in research related to my mission to ignite family engagement in education. Being a learner has also empowered me to create writing and video content and provide professional services that also empower parents and educators to strengthen their alliance for the benefit of increased levels of student success.
The value that I place on learning is causing me to reflect on my success.
I Have Reached A Milestone That Is A Milestone Unique to Me
When learners experience incremental accomplishments and if their success occurs over time, I believe that their efforts must be affirmed within their learning community.
As an active and contributing member of the Medium community of readers and writers, I am excited that I reached an important milestone as a writing creator. And I am filled with professional pride as I commemorate my work.
Here is the good news that feels good to me.
Since I joined the Medium Partner Program in April 2019, I have written and published over 500 stories that I consider professional. These writings have not only motivated and challenged the 54,000 readers and writers that follow me on this platform, but my work has also done the same for the consumers of my work on all my social media platforms that cannot be quantified. I believe my work has reached a level of being infinite because several of my stories have been republished in international traditional and online publications. These personal milestones represent a personal accomplishment that I recognize and celebrate.
There Is A Backstory to My Writing Journey
Nothing has been easy about achieving what can be classified as success as a writing content creator. My first two years were filled with personal frustration. Looking back on my journey, the reason for my frustration is crystal clear. While I had a strong message to share and was an experienced writer, I failed to consistently create content.
There were several months at a time when I did not write nor publish any stories. Because of this, very few people, if any, read the work that I sporadically created. I wanted to stop writing during my inconsistent periods because the result that I desired, readers, escaped me.
There was another cause for my early failure as a member of the Medium Partner Program. I rarely interacted with other creators. This was evidenced by the fact that I hardly ever read the work of other writers nor interacted with them.
After a long cycle of remaining an inconsistent writer, I grew to realize how passionate I was about the content that I needed to share to advance my work and I realized how passionate I was about being a writer at the same time. These passions ignited determination and dedication that burned within my heart.
Once I began viewing my work as a job that I needed to perform to advance my work, I became committed to being a consistent writing creator. This does not mean that I have perfected my process on this platform. On the contrary.
I endeavor to continue to grow to become more of a prolific writer and family engagement expert. I also have the desire to build and sustain more meaningful partnerships with other writing creators on and off the Medium platform.
My Final Word
My celebration does not reflect any intent to become an idle writer like I was in the past. It simply means that I am pleased that I made it this far on my journey. This is especially true because a lot of well-intentioned writers on this platform only advance as far as the creation of their profiles.
Because my mission to ignite family engagement has not been actualized, I know with all certainty that I have a long way to go on my journey as a family engagement influencer.
I am dedicated to consistently continuing my work as a writing creator. I will continue to make progress step by step.
Thank you for partnering with my by reading this story and for joining my celebration.
Here is my golden ticket that helps me accomplish my mission.
