Have you moved or copied stories from Medium to Vocal?

I understand both platforms are perfectly OK with it, so I tried it out with one story. Surprised, I found it took much more effort than expected, so the natural question: is it worth doing?

I’m gaining interest in Vocal/Vocal+ as a platform to build a larger audience, and I’ve read everywhere that since we writers keep our rights on the material we write here, we can republish it on other sites without barriers. I reasoned that simply republishing one of my stories would be a quick way to get started in Vocal. I tried first with one of my stories that had a secured niche in Vocal -yes, this wasn’t straightforward because I don’t see on Vocal as much a variety of topics as on Medium!

And well… I found the procedure very complicated. I mean, technically. I expected that one or few copy-paste operations would be enough to move the content, but that wasn’t the case. I had to manually copy section by section, reformat the paragraphs and titles, and even copy the figures one by one, then add their captions. Then on a global read I realized some portions had been copied incorrectly, although they were ok on medium A pain in the… pain!

Do you know of tools or procedures that make this simpler? Would you share with me in the comments or in your own dedicated story, your experience on Vocal? Many thanks in advance, dear fellow!
