A timeline of Proof

If being lucky is a superpower then blessed are the millennials!

I guess a lot would somehow disagree but with how I see it, life has been made easier for millennials being given the best of both worlds.

Then first let us define Millenials. According to Beresford research and fast company-Harris Poll, Millenials are those born from 1981 to 1996 with ages 26 to 41.

Then why could they be considered the luckiest? Here’s a timeline of proof:

1.) Year 1990’s: At Age 5–12, We are not yet introduced to Gadgets and hello to Active Play

The only gadgets we knew were toys. From Barbie dolls, Mini kitchen sets, Dollhouses, Teddy bears, Pokémon cards, Coca-Cola POGs; These have been made more fun with neighborhood playmates. We used to play games where we run along the neighborhood streets and the only worry parents have is how to head us home for an afternoon nap. Our care-free days where we end up going home on a wet t-shirt from a very vigorous and competitive children’s games!

2.) Year 2000’s: At age 12–15, When we were saved by Encarta

Without social media, our high-school life’s main pressure revolved around the number of research assignments. Thankfully, we don’t need to typewrite our paperwork with the widespread introduction of computers in our country. Luckily, we no longer need carbon papers and liquid erasers for each mistake thanks to the Microsoft office. To expand our understanding and to lengthen our write-ups, ENCARTA has been our superhero!

It was also at this time that Nokia 5160 are made affordable for most households and parents can easily communicate with us wherever we may go.

3.) Year 2007’s: At Age 16–18, Upon entering College, when it became a lot more difficult INTERNET is already available!

I could remember how College doubled our social activities and paperwork where most of which are no longer covered by Encarta. Coincidentally, the INTERNET is already made accessible and available to almost anyone. From project ideas to solutions, the Internet generally got it covered. Group meetings were also made easier thanks to Unlimited all-network text messaging.

Happily, social media was not yet widely used in our earlier years in College, and walking around without that perfect, fresh look make-up made life a little easier compared to nowadays. Natural beauty was the fashion. You get to meet several schoolmates without eyebrows and nobody cares!

4.) Year 2011’s: At Age 19–28 social media helped us to dress up and meet partners

At the time when we are confronted with this dating stage, our choices and perspective have been broadened. On Youtube, we were given a step-by-step process on how to do make-up, how to cook, and almost everything else. Some have met their partners through Facebook and other social media platforms. It was no longer limited to being with someone within the proximity.

5.) Year 2012- Onwards: Working and Marrying age, Internet boosted us opportunities and discovery of Anti-aging products.

In our maturing age, when we are about to have families, we could find employment even in the comfort of our homes through online jobs. So many upgrades were made for home appliances from the kitchen to the bedroom. Anything we wanted in the click of our fingertips through online shopping. Airfares for travel are even made cheaper and as we are also getting older, the rise of anti-aging products is already made available. Long-distance relationships are even made a lot less difficult through Viber, facetime, messenger making the world a lot closer and nearer to each other.

It was as if the world have developed along and side by side with the Millenials. Opportunely, Millenials were exposed to both worlds from the beauty of the pre-internet era to these technological advancements making life easier as our responsibilities demanded more from us. I wonder what else could be in store in the coming years.

How about you? Do you agree Millenials are the luckiest?
