A shipping container market? I’m not pulling your leg. I’m dead serious. At 28 Bathurst Street in Downtown Toronto, you’ll find Canada’s largest shipping container market. It’s a market built entirely out of shipping containers! Isn’t that such a cool idea? It’s like those shipping containers you see on tv, where the bad guys like to have fights.

The aptly named Stackt Market takes over almost an entire block. It’s filled with quaint coffee shops, cute breakfast stops, and retail stores.

It’s open all year round and perfect for a summer hangout with friends.

There’s a really cool vibe to the market. As we explored some more, I found a display of beautiful photos. I’m usually not an artistic person, but I enjoyed the photos. This was my favourite one!

I can feel the love that this man has for his dog! So beautiful. (photo provided by Linda Ng)

There are play areas for kids, beer chugging spots for adults, and even a dog park for your furry friends! It’s got an awesomely relaxing atmosphere. I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute if someone asked me to spend a few hours lounging here on a beautiful summer day.

There are plenty of places to hang around. There was a dog playing in the dog park! Even our furry friends can have fun here. (photos provided by Linda Ng)

I found the idea of using shipping containers very intriguing. Who would have thought of using these containers to build a whole place full of shops and little restaurants?

There is also a lot of art on outside of the containers, so it gives the originally dull colours a very new and trendy look.

It’s a difficult to describe this place in words. If you visit Toronto, you may want to schedule a stop at Stackt Market!
