Have You Cut The Umbilical Cord?
A poem/note on umbilical attachment, detachment and the connection

Have you cut the umbilical cord? Have you clamped the attachment fjord? ..and let things go ..and enjoyed them watching grow
The point of detachment(belly button), organically heals in a natural rhythm Hail this celestial algorithm! It the highest source of energy, though hidden To be awakened, first get ridden
Nature’s first lesson is detachment To be free, is all it meant It’s all about being in the moment This is the epoch, where you meet content
Detachment is not the absence of love It is the onset of dove It is the absence of owning You own nothing and nothing owns you
Being a mere observer Detachment is not the absence of care It is the Faith, that someone is UP there
When Attachment hurts Detachment heals I tried this deal And ecstatic I feel
“Wound is the Place Where The Light Enters”, Rumi
When a baby is inside the mother’s womb, the umbilical cord provides nourishment to the fetus. When the time is ripe, the baby enters the world, the cord is cut, leaving a stump. It eventually falls off, and heals to form the belly button (umbilicus).
This umbilical, navel, is the point of connection with our higher self.
Just see the beauty of nature, it exemplifies detachment to connect.
This is the first lesson in detachment, nature gives to life.
One needs to be detached to grow. Detached and just be as we are meant to be.
This short poem was originally written in response to Darshak Rana’s prompt “Attachment/Detachment” on his publication Spiritual Secrets.
I just had an hour to hit the deadline for the submission. First I got apprehensive and then I detached myself from the feeling to be published in the prompt. I just sat and wrote what I felt with a calm mind.
If I make it on time, it’s ok, if not, it’s ok too :)
Everything falls in place if we let it go and give time.
