Have no Fears — See your Talents as Gifts to the World.
At some point, we have been scared of launching our businesses, starting that online course, starting that school, empowering members of the community, and so on. Sometimes we fear the unknown, and we have fears of failure or success. Some other times, our worries are just baseless.
What are you afraid of? Are you worried you are not going to make it? Let me tell you why you should not be afraid of pursuing your dreams. Your dreams are gifts to the world, and the best you can do to them is to offer them to the world as gifts — nothing more, nothing less.
Take, for example. When you are the giver of a gift, what occupies your mind is how excited the receiver will be to receive the gift from you. You are looking out on whether the receiver will like it this way or that way. That is how your gifts and talents are, they are simply gifts to the world, bearing in mind that it is more blessed to give than to receive. You have some things others do not have. Even though they possess what you have, they do not possess it the same way you possess it. There is always an audience craving for what you have to offer. If an artist decides not to sing because he does not feel people will listen to him, then he is making a mistake and despising his gift/talent. Do not hide what has been bestowed on by nature.
The problem we have is the fact that we are money-driven more than reaching out to society with our talents. The problem we encounter is our minds are clouded by the money we want to make through our crafts. Our minds are clouded by the recognition we will gain. As a result, we work our minds off because we want to make some bucks. Oh yeah! Money is good. However, when we seek to solve problems rather than pursuing money only for self-gratification, only then will our lives be purposeful.
In short, eliminate your fears by dwelling on the following points; 1. Your talent is a gift to the world. Do not deprive the world of it. 2. It is not about you. It is about the lives you want to transform. 3. Have a purpose for pursuing money. Let the reason be more significant than your personal needs. 4. Polish your talents as often as you can. The world rewards skill and hard work. 5. Focus on the benefits your ability will be to the world. 6. You do not need to fear. The world is earnestly waiting for you to unleash.
