Has the Conway Public Saga Come to an End?
There was no shortage of tweets
Concentrate on the family
Never have we seen such a strange family saga played out before the public as with Kellyanne Conway’s devotion to President Trump and her husband’s tweets blasting Trump. Then their teenage daughter got into the fray siding with her father. Most people would not show such a display for everyone to see, but they continued it for the past four years. It has been a very unusual drama being played out in full view.
George Conway was a co-founder of the Lincoln Project, an organization of Republicans determined to keep Trump from getting elected to a second term. He tweeted regularly giving all kinds of reasons that Trump should not be President. He seems to think he needs to warn the public about Trump. He called Trump unfit and a malignant narcissist.
Now George Conway says that he is dropping out of the Lincoln Project, and his wife left her job at the White House at the end of August. They say they are doing it to concentrate on their family. It must have been a toxic situation for the past four years in that home.
As a parting shot, Kellyanne spoke at the Republican National Convention praising Trump as usual. Their daughter expressed her displeasure at that saying she was DEVASTATED that her mother was planning to speak. She has publicly announced that she was pushing for emancipation from her parents.
Families have enough trouble as it is without displaying their dirty laundry for everyone in the world to see. This has been a very strange state of affairs.
Kellyanne has asked news talk show hosts not to ask about her personal life and her marriage, but the Conway family have been the ones to make it a public spectacle. Maybe she will write a book about the Trumps and make a lot of money like several of his former allies have done although she remains an ally for now.
As a conservative Republican, George Conway has been an outspoken critic of Trump. He has been the brunt of much bullying from Trump who has called him terrible names such as a “deranged loser of a husband” to Kellyanne. George Conway has called Trump “a racist and evil.” The feelings are mutual, it seems.
Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States if George Conway has anything to say about it. Kellyanne appears to remain dedicated to Trump.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens from now to the election in November. Can they both keep their mouths shut and not express their opinions about Trump? It should be interesting.
