Poem/Prompt
Harmonizing Connections
Making new friends or deepening existing friendships
A choice we ponder, a path that often slips,
Between the two, a balance we must find,
To nurture our hearts and enrich our mind.
In forging new bonds, the world expands wide,
Fresh faces, perspectives, on this thrilling ride.
Connections sprout like flowers in the spring,
A chance to dance to the songs new friendships bring.
Yet, in the embrace of familiar souls,
We find a comfort that consoles and consoles,
Shared memories, stories, and laughter’s glow,
In the garden of trust, existing friendships grow.
Making new friends, a canvas yet unpainted,
Each encounter unique, our hearts elated.
With openness and kindness as our guide,
We find in strangers, a journey to confide.
Deepening existing friendships, a treasure trove,
Where roots run deep, and bonds continue to evolve.
In times of joy, in moments of despair,
These friendships are the ones that truly care.
So, which is better? It’s a question complex,
For both have their place, both love and perplex.
In the end, it’s not a choice we must make,
But a delicate balance we must undertake.
For as we welcome new faces with a smile,
Let’s not forget those who’ve been with us for a while.
In the dance of connections, we find our grace,
In both making new friends and embracing old space.
