March 17 is the day to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day around the world. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, but the special day is commemorated around the globe.

People normally like to wear green on Saint Patrick’s Day. There are parades and celebrations throughout much of the world in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day.

Even if you are not Irish, Saint Patrick’s Day is a day to remember the Irish and to celebrate with them.

There is a tradition that the Chicago River is turned green for Saint Patrick’s Day. That has been done for sixty years and is a part of the celebration.
