Happy New Year’s Eve! We Are in the Home Stretch Now

The last day of the old year is here, so no guilt, no regrets

We are in the home stretch now, as we make the final turn, the last day of the old year, the one night when everybody parties hearty.

We will all be watching the fireworks with our families, children, and significant others either live or on TV as a constant background that sets the mood.

It is an American tradition, and if we go in person or watch them on TV we will still be doing it together.

There will be lots of parties and dancing, and some people will drink too much and do foolish, giddy, exhilarating things. But right now everybody is caught up in the moment.

Nobody cares about anything but the now on New Year’s Eve. Whether we play the game or do the walk of shame it is all up to us in the end. We are all human.

But what lies beyond the tape as we triumphantly burst through it at the finish line of midnight?

How many new races will we be running after tonight? There will be so many new faces to meet and greet, spaces, and places to explore in the years to come!

There are always more adventures to discover as we embark on the New Year together once again.

Life is an endless series of new vistas to check out, different experiences to savor, fresh chances, or new romances.

We will be able to explore how we can help find the peace and prosperity we all seek. The opportunities to expand our consciousness and discover our truth, our reality.

Time is irrelevant to the journey as we pass all the marker posts on the road of life. We are all travelers on the same path of enlightenment.

We can take it slow or we can race through it. But no matter our pace, we can never quite see what lies beyond the other side of the finish line of life.

All of our lives are like a vision, a dream seen through a glass darkly. As the obstacles and barriers increase, our resolve stretches to accommodate them.

We strengthen our willpower because we know we will eventually win out.

We will be able to savor the flavor for a brief moment of peace, of tranquility born of fragility, of the strength and resolve that changes all of us into the people we were meant to be.

This year is almost over, but there is always a new year, right on the horizon.

That moment of realization transforms us into the people that we will become. When the race and pace, the rhythm and rhyme all are joined together.

The moment of clarity that gives us a glimpse of a future of brightness and lightness of spirit that combine in the end. But there is no end. There is never an end, just another beginning.

We are all perpetual motion machines, and we are propelled by the intense, insistent rhythms of life. Revealing the lightness and grace, the pace of the race, the beauty within that we all are revealed to be at last.

There is always a new set of faces and places, in an unending stream of time and circumstance, with no apparent rhyme or reason.

There is always so much more to do, so much more to accomplish, in this life and the next.

So many goals to reach and achieve, so many mountains to climb and oceans to swim, so many people, and so many things.

There are mouths to feed and people in need. There are always new wrongs to be set right, and injustices to be struck down.

We have a planet to save, and we must be brave. We will right this listing ship we call Earth and stem the tide. We are all along for the ride because it will always be the ride of our lives.

Let’s all make at least one resolution that will stick this year. Let’s combine to save the planet. Let’s dance and romance while we do it because we can do it all, and have it all.
