A Writer’s Prompt for QueerlyTrans

I am a new card-carrying member (seriously, where is my card?) of the Queerly-Trans Community (the QTC). Honestly, I’m still a bit in shock as I look back to 2021 and what has changed. I started the year hiding my transness, naively hoping that my “organic-plant-estrogen” therapy was going to give me a perky topside and I would think of some clever way to wave it off to my wife.

And Now?

And now here I am, with two therapists, an HRT doc, a team of people at work who want to help me succeed in the office space, and hope for the future. But what a hope!

A New Hope…Not Just A Rebellion Fight Song

Yes, I stole the Star Wars tagline. But I have such hope for the new year.

  • I’m on HRT and have a road map for my transition
  • I’m officially a queer t-gal
  • I’m working with two therapists on my transition and on my integration
  • I’m re-discovering talents I’ve hidden away (photography and music so far)
  • I’m finding talents I never thought I had (writing and critical thinking)
  • I’m making peace with myself (my inner child loves me to pieces, and I love her!)
  • I’m making new friends and learning on Medium

These are MAJOR helps in my life and in finding my voice. I love learning and helping and Medium has given me a place to do both. Thank you all so much for your support. You are fantastic!

Things To Do In ‘22

I look forward to great things this year! I want to keep writing and start my first book. I’m going to start taking auditions soon from my characters, although there is one who is at the top of the list. I started telling her story a few years ago on Elliquiy and now I need to wake her up again, she will appreciate it.

  • Transition — Fine-tuning HRT, physical fitness, therapy, fem presentation practice, get on the waiting list for bottom surgery (4-year wait!)
  • Me-ness — Working with Jinny (my IC), learning how to self-care, setting and keeping boundaries, and dealing with any issues that come up
  • Music — Just want to start creating again
  • Photography — Starting some ‘alternate seeing’ projects with infrared
  • Astronomy — Working with my new telescope
  • Social — getting to know my new friends on Medium

A busy and fulfilling year in the making. I love it!
