Happy International Day of Happiness:
March 20th every year is International Happiness Day. A day to promote the importance of happiness as a fundamental human right and goal.

The idea of a day dedicated to happiness was first proposed by Bhutan, a small country in South Asia that has long prioritized the well-being and happiness of its citizens over economic growth even adopted the goal of Gross National Happiness over Gross National Product.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution in 2012 to recognize the importance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and to establish the International Day of Happiness.
Happiness and well-being are essential components of human flourishing, and research has shown that they are closely linked to various factors, such as social connections, meaningful work, physical health, and a sense of purpose and meaning in life.
The idea of celebrating happiness is not new, and many cultures and traditions around the world have long emphasized the importance of happiness and well-being.
International Day of Happiness provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of happiness in our lives, communities, and societies.
One of the key messages of the International Day of Happiness is that happiness is not a luxury or a privilege reserved for a few, but a fundamental human right that should be accessible to all.
The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals recognize that “eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest global challenge and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development.” Happiness and well-being are closely linked to the eradication of poverty, as poverty can be a major source of stress, insecurity, and unhappiness.
Another message of the International Day of Happiness is that happiness is not only an individual pursuit but a collective one. We can all contribute to creating happier and more positive communities and societies, by promoting social and economic equality, fostering social connections and networks, and promoting values such as compassion, empathy, and kindness.
The International Day of Happiness is also an occasion to recognize the important role that happiness and well-being play in our health, productivity, and creativity.
Research has shown that people who are happier tend to be more resilient, healthier, and more productive. Happy people are also more likely to be creative and innovative, which can have positive effects on society and the economy.
Celebrating the International Day of Happiness can take many forms, from organizing community events and activities to promoting happiness and well-being in our personal and professional lives.
International Day of Happiness is a great reminder of the importance of happiness and well-being in our lives, communities, and societies. By recognizing happiness as a fundamental human right and a collective pursuit, we can work towards creating happier, healthier, and more resilient communities and societies. Let us all take a moment to reflect on what makes us happy and how we can contribute to creating a happier world for all.
