Happy Birthday Illumination
And warmest congratulations to Dr. Mehmet Yildiz
Three years ago…and a few weeks, maybe…
Thank you Dr. Seuss, for the inspiration…
The sun did not shine.
The sky was not blue.
And one man, Dr Yildiz
Had nothing to do.
No books to read.
No stories to write,
And all he could do
Was to sit, sit, sit tight.
Now sitting so tightly
Did not seem quite fit
For a man whose body
Was ne’er meant to sit.
So…he thought in the shower.
He thought in the bath.
He thought when out walking
Along every path
Of the suburb he lived in,
(He knew them all well).
And then, this is how
As near I can tell,
An idea just
Popped into his head…!
And he said to himself…
“I know what I’ll do!
“I’ll write me a blog
“On Medium!”
It’s true!
“I’ll establish a blog
“And it will be the best
“It will stand above others
“As a true litmus test.
“All about health
“Nutrition and food.
“People will love it
“Because love it they should.”
And so in the dark
With everyone napping
This blog came to be,
In its infancy, mapping.
But it grew and it grew
And it lightened the way
For bloggers like us
Who wanted our say.
This blog it took wings.
It flew to the sky
It opened its doors
For others to try
To write about things
They wanted to say,
To be valued writers
To have their own day.
So from one man who,
To sit was not able,
A super-blog was born
One to enable
Others to write
‘Bout things of their choosing,
‘Bout serious topics
And ones quite amusing.
And even today
It grows and finds favor
For others to read
And honestly savor.
So what’s left to say about such a successful blog?
