Happiness, You Take My Breath Away Sometimes

In response to Dancing Elephant’s Prompt 25 of 52

My happiness is that little flutter in my heart space when I feel a sense of AWE.

When I’m in the presence of the Great Spirit’s handiwork.

  1. It can be a beautiful scene when I’m hiking in the mountains,
  2. . . . the lovely sound of a cascading waterfall,
  3. . . . the riotous display of wildflowers in a forest meadow,
  4. . . . the wild cry of a loon in flight,
  5. . . . the coloring of my feathered friends as they visit my bird feeders,
  6. . . . dogs, cats, horses or deer playing with abandon,
  7. . . . the pitter patter of rain on the roof,
  8. . . . the plop of an oar as I paddle a canoe or kayak,
  9. . . . my hands finding a crack or knob to aid me climbing a rock wall,
  10. . . . that triumphant surge when I stand on a hard won mountain summit,
  11. . . . the thrill of pedaling my bike in sync with the earth’s rotation,
  12. . . . the endorphins flooding my body while running a 5K race,
  13. . . . the awesome beauty and scent of my roses,
  14. . . . the wind whispering through tree leaves,
  15. . . . the taste of fresh picked vegetables from my garden,
  16. . . . cradling little babies in my arms,
  17. . . . carving a hunk of wood or painting a picture,
  18. . . . working outside in my yard, plunging my hands in the fertile dirt,
  19. . . . enjoying the warmth of a campfire with family & friends,
  20. . . . eating a scrumptious meal in a restaurant

Wow, the list could go on and on. When one truly reflects on what makes you happy, how can you complain? Yes, there are rough patches in everyone’s life. That’s what makes us grow. I am grateful for those experiences too. I am a stronger person as a result.

When you consider the whole picture, ain’t life grand?
