POETRY
Hammock Time
a poetry response to Ravyne Hawke’s poem prompt “bounty”
There’s nothing like relaxing In the warm sun or cool shade Nestled in the comfort of a Satisfying hammock.
Swinging gently sipping my drink of choice In this paradise, savouring The pleasure and privilege I have been able to afford myself And by feck, I will make the most of it.
Pure joy in this my hammock Of lethargic bliss, The sea-nic view Gives up hypnotic dancing stars Upon the tempting water.
I will, however, wait a while Before joining you as I am Drifting away in your enticing Sea-ne of charming solace.
It’s only the beating hot sun Which prises me from my indulgence, Guiding me to the refreshing waters Of the aqua sea for a swim which will lead me straight back into my hammock!
Once again to gently swing with my Ice cold drink of choice ahhhhh… This is my bounty. Repeat to fade, repeat to fade.
Thank you to Ravyne Hawke for tagging me in this prompt “bounty” part of the Never-ending series created by Martin Rushton.

In the tradition of the Never-ending Story… that was a slip, (I’m going to leave it in. Especially because that song sticks in me feckin’ head every time I do this.) I graciously ask Titans of poetry who are on repeat prescription… Bob Jasper Jenny Justice Holly Jahangiri Kevin Keeney Jasmine Poulton T. Mark Mangum Galit Birk, PhD Dr John Rose To submit a piece which will put us into a “Hypnotic” state with their words. Thank you in advance to those who choose to pursue… Yours truly. J.
