Haiku — 0020: Taegeuk.
Charyeot, Gyeong-nye
Going for a Taekwondo style/poomsae competition in some time. I couldn’t help it haha! I’ll write an article about it this week (And update that link here as well😁)!
Rigorous, serene,
Block, kick, punch, focus and peace,
The fruits of training.
I have linked another article at the end, where I go into my Taegeuk story and the various aspects of it. Today is about execution, in a competition. The location is a half-hour away, it is in Belgium, and I, living in the Netherlands, will abuse this situation to claim that I am “participating in an international tournament”.
Small pleasures.
This marks my second tournament, with the first one ending me in fourth place….
… in a group of four.
Looking forward to seeing what today brings my way! I am excited, but also a tad bit nervous, living the past year of self-improvement and the two decades of lull before that. Breathing as I write, the sequences, postures and the effort I put into learning them go through my mind, as I try to replace nervousness with purpose, and direction.
If you’re reading this within the first two hours of being published, wish me luck! If not, you can still wish me luck, I will stock it up for future competitions.
