FROM AN ER DOC’S ARCHIVES

Had The Boost Existed Three Years Ago — These Hard-Hitting Emergency Department Stories Would Have Had a Shot

I coulda been a contender

Since my writing hasn’t improved one iota in the years I’ve been on Medium, my old stuff is just as good as my new stuff, some of which has been boosted.

And, there’s no easy way to make old stories new again, without a major rewrite that is, and that’s not easy.

So, as a service to mankind, I’m dredging up some quality ER stories from my ancient past, presenting them here for all to see and enjoy.

Content warning

1️⃣ There’s one long one in the mix. Pace yourself.

2️⃣ Death is discussed. So if you’re afeared that you might die someday stop reading immediately.

This is the long one I warned you about

Might as well get the tough stuff out of the way early on. Right?

But still it’s a good story and you can probably read it and absorb its message faster than a speeding bullet.

A moment of real wisdom during ER morning report

Unexpected insights.

An ER death produces a near-riot

I learned something about death notification that day.

The title says it all

Or does it?

There are many more but that’s it for now.

The modern day classics

The boosted bunch.
