Guiding Lists To Embed In Your Routine
for mindfulness, productivity & efficiency on quarantine days!

Let’s not talk about the current reality, as we all know the situation from our perspectives. As we all are hoping for a brighter tomorrow, what we can do now is to make every day (and night) fruitful with the available resources at home.
“Lost time is never found again.” Benjamin Franklin, Founding Father of the United States
Now, if I try to put a list for every single individual on the planet with different attributes, different preferences, and diversified requirements — the list will be an exhaustive one. So, I’m writing this note for those readers, who are currently working from home or looking for work, are looking forward to the safety of their health & hoping forward their businesses/workplaces to be open in the upcoming time (aka, future).
Most importantly, enjoy a great sleeping habit. “Early to bed and early rise.”

In any time period, a night of good sleep is one of the key elements of maintaining a healthy body and a continued source of mindfulness. If you have a good sleep, you can conquer the world — seriously. People deprived of sleep feel a lack of motivation and experience frustration. And there are lots of unhealthy facts caused by a deprived sleep pattern. So, sleep well, feel well, enjoy the days.
- Find out a walking time / running time for a minimum of 30 minutes daily. Feel the nature of your surrounding (but keep your physical distance) and revive for each day.
- Full-fledged breakfast to start your day’s engine and fuel your energy.
- Adhere strictly to your office time for office work. Finish your office work within that time and if not finished, keep it for the next day. Do not linger the office hours, as once you do it for once — you’ll continue to do it for the rest of the weekdays.
- Enjoy meal-time, by having meals and enjoying family chats only.
- Must have family times. Make full utilization of these times. Be innovative, bring some new ideas for meals, games, movies, gossips. Try out board game/chess game/puzzle games, enjoy a virtual tour of the museums or places, try out Google ARcore virtual reality tour, incorporate family photo-day, etc.
- Connect with relatives & friends on phone, social media, and have heartfelt conversations. Or, if possible — write letters on papers (which people don’t expect nowadays, but will be happy to receive).

- Appreciate the service of the personnel — serving your family’s requirements on grocery, food items, mails, security on a building — who you see during these days. Thank them from distance — if possible.
- If possible, grow a reading habit (fiction/non-fiction/ adventure/travel, anything suits your needs and keep your mind occupied).
- Control the information intake of this pandemic (from TV channels, social media, or from conversations with others), limit it once a day. You do not need the updated numbers popping up on your TV screen every minute and be frightened or experience anxiety.

- Keep you work-time and work-space separate from your personal time and personal space
- Increase the frequency of cleaning your house, space and relevant accessories — not only to be safe but also to feel the positive vibe around your den
- Write something every day (doesn’t mean you have to publish every day). It might be a journal, a diary, a story, a gibberish note, a photography story — even if you are not a writer. If you have kids, probably write your own stories for the kids.
- Engage in passion items, which you have probably kept into a locked shelf inside your mind. Try it again.
- If you are minimalist, go through your household items to find whether you require everything you have right now. Perhaps you will find a different perspective. If you are not minimalist, try the idea out, and let’s see how it goes.
- If you have pets, follow the daily routine and give them more time — as you have a bit more time to spend.
- Create something NEW — might be a new musical tone or the new color with your paint-brush or doodle.
- Might create a travel bucket list for the upcoming positive time to make-up for the lost times.
- Meditate, do Yoga or continue gym — if you have a passion for it.

- Learn a new skill or complete an ONLINE COURSE (lots of institutions like Coursera, Udemy are providing free courses, try those out.
- Listen to MUSIC or PODCASTS, based on your tastes and preferences.
- Plan for a future definitive list — work on resume, LinkedIn, or relevant portfolio website, engage with connections to learn about the current state, share relevant content on the website, know about current business trends. In terms of family, have conversations with your partner or family members to gather thoughts for the future.
- Support your local stores (groceries or Essential businesses) by supporting them at this time.
- Complete your tax return or at-least learn, how to do it.
Which ones to embed and which ones to ignore? It depends on your viewpoints of your time, a pattern of your work, your philosophy towards life, and the things you want to achieve. You can follow the following to identify, which ones are relevant for you:
“Simplicity boils down to two steps: Identify the essential. Eliminate the rest.” Leo Babauta, blogger

The list here is based on my understanding and perspective. Every personnel is different and the aspiration or viewpoints of life’s philosophy are different. Choose the one that fits your perspective.
