An Essay

I have always been one who loves waffles. There’s just something about those buttery grooves drenched in maple syrup that have my palate and heart running marathons. I could eat them 24/7 and never tire of them.

I remember one weekend my cousin and I attended a jazz festival in Millbrae, CA. She is also a waffle lover. We went to an eaterie that served breakfast items all day. Love those types of restaurants. We ordered the waffles and they were simply divine. Now you would think that would be enough, but… No! We ordered a second one each, explaining to the server we hadn’t eaten in a while so she wouldn’t think we were nuts. A third round? Almost but we felt too guilty about it.

With my health issues now and being disabled and homebound, I no longer can visit restaurants so I have all my groceries and food delivered. Thank you Uber Eats. Due to those issues, I have to watch the carbs and sugar intake, so when I make waffles I always top them with yogurt and fruit. Still delicious though not my groovy, buttery, and drenched with maple syrup dough.
