During my time writing and editing for Illumination pubs I realised that there was one thing missing. Indeed, it was a thing that even Ev Williams himself came to realise was missing on Medium as a whole. In the case of Ev Williams, he simply went out and bought into a publishing house in France, a business called Glose. This thriving company publishes ebooks, akin to Kindle but without the hardware, as Ev put it.This initiative was sparked by Ev's recognition that books are still important, for both writers and readers alike.

Clearly great minds think alike as Dr Mehmet Yildiz, more or less at the same time as Ev Williams, had a similar idea. Of course, many writers such as Stuart Englander and myself, plus a whole host of others like Phil Truman had expressed our interest in doing something about this here on Illumination, but we weren't sure if anything would ever come of it. Well, it gives me the greatest of pleasure to tell you that now it has. These are exciting times for all of us who enjoy creating a longer write and readers who like a longer read.

The new publication is suitably called Illumination Book Chapters, which is absolutely perfect. It does what it says it does on the tin. Illumination Book Chapters offers writers the wonderful opportunity to repurpose their published stories and have them presented to the massive audience that Illumination now commands. In the words of Dr Yildiz.....

"The primary goal of ILLUMINATION Book Chapters is to allow published authors to repurpose their published content and present them to a new audience.

For me, as a published writer of short stories, I am very interested in the first one, Published Books.
