Gratitude: This Moment

My year of grateful thoughts — 2

Photograph is by the Hermione Wilds Writes

This moment is free. I am walking in the countryside, and I need nothing. I have the warmth of the sun, and my good walking shoes. My feet are cushioned and warm.

I am healthy. I have committed to walking every day and I am doing that because I am able to. The sky is blue and the air is fresh today. I notice these facts and feel grateful.

I am grateful for these two hours of walking in the warm winter sunshine. I am grateful for the outdoors. I am grateful that this countryside is clean and beautiful.

I am grateful for my camera and the ability to capture this moment. This moment is free, and for that I am grateful.

I pay attention to the birds flying around ahead of me; the robin and the crows cawing. I am grateful for birds.

This diary of gratitude was inspired by Delaney Patterson’s call to express gratitude all year round in this prompt.
