PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
Grass, Sky, and Everything in Between
Week 52 of the photographic documentary of my daily life
This week is about the beauty of a lush green meadow, a flower bouquet, and the skies. Because that is what my daily life is about. It’s about the beauty on the ground. Flowers. The green of nature. But it is also about the sky. A large part of my days is actually being spent in the sky.
And therefore I often look at the sky. I look at the clouds anticipating rain. I look at the sky guessing wind directions and speeds. And I look at the sky to simply embrace an other-worldly sunset.

Today I went for a walk in the forest. All on my own. Just to embrace the fresh air, silence, and to recharge my own batteries. It was late in the afternoon when I was looking at the grass growing on the gravel road shining in the sunset light.

Today we went to my cousin's wedding. And this is what I came home with. A beautiful bouquet of flowers. It was the decoration on the tables at the wedding. Not to throw it away afterward, everyone got one home.

This is the other part of my office. Or let’s say it is looking at my office from a different angle. The sky is right there. Looking at it from the ground. And the beautiful meadow is where we softly touch down after falling through the sky.

And this is — right, a thunderstorm seen from my office. My job couldn’t be more weather dependant. And therefore I get to experience it all. From sunshine and blue skies over light fog to heavy rain showers and thunderstorms. I’ve experienced it all. The better parts of the weather in the sky, the other parts on the ground. Waiting for it to pass so we can go up again.

And this is one of those magical moments. The sun is shining. But a light drizzle is falling from the sky. Raindrops shining in the last rays of sunshine for the day. A small rainbow appearing right behind me.

It was date night today. My husband and I decided it’s time to take up regular dates again since the restaurants reopened and we could do with a little shutting off from work while embracing the romantic town of Miltenberg.
We went in the afternoon and first walked along the river of Main for an hour or two. Talking, watching people walking by, embracing the panoramic view, and simply enjoying the moment.
It ended up being such a great evening and I took many pictures of that picturesque and historical German city. Too many for the one-photo-a-day challenge. But I’ll share them separately with you dedicating an entire read to the city and our experience.

Guess what? Exactly, this has been another romantic sunset scene captured at the airport. It started raining late in the afternoon and we were grounded for an hour or two not thinking we could go up again this day.
But then as it often happens the clouds disappeared and we got to do two beautiful sunset jumps. Even prettier was the scene after I landed and looked towards the setting sun peeking out behind the clouds. Simply magical!
This has been my week in photographs. 7 days. 7 photographs. Anyone can join. Once. Or weekly. It doesn’t matter. We welcome everyone! Dennett was the one starting this photography challenge sometime last year and many have participated ever since.
