It’s done. It took a little while, but it’s done. I finished my handy dandy income tracker. This year, I set myself a goal of reaching $20 a week in writing income. I was nervous because I didn’t want to give myself a goal that I wouldn’t reach.

Do I have confidence in myself? Yes, I do. The problem is I have made little on Medium. I did a little better in November and December. I’ll write about that soon. But stating that I’m going to make a consistent amount of money every week is a wake-up call.

The Plan

Last year, I didn’t have any specific goals other than continuing to keep writing and publishing a few times a week. Now I want to take things to the next level and establish myself.

With this in mind, I planned for 2024. Setting a goal of $20 allowed me to use my creative juices to create a printable tracker. Initially, I wanted to create one tracker, but then I had two ideas. I’m writing about both today.

Every income goal has an underlying goal. It requires you to be good at what you do. That means I also have to make sure I’m getting better at writing. There’s no way I’m going to earn more for writing if my writing stinks. So the underlying goal is to get better.

Tracker 1

The first printable tracker is a coloring sheet. You can color in the dollar signs each time you have earned money. Use this if you’re just starting out or don’t have an amount to track. Simply sophisticated. Low maintenance and low brain cell usage. Easy peasy.

Tracker 2

The second tracker allows you to enter the dollar amount you’ve earned each day. It follows the same concept as Tracker 1, except you can also enter a dollar amount in the box. I love this because it makes it easy to see how much you are making each day.

What’s next

Now that this first set of income trackers is out, I’m working on the next one. Yes, that’s right. I am already working on the other two trackers to go along with these two. When I’m done, I will write about them.

Conclusion

For the coloring page, The Simple Income Tracker, I color in a dollar sign every time I earn. So simple. For The Amount Income Tracker, I use it for a project where I track my income, like my weekly $20 goal. For those projects, I keep it simple. The visual layout is fun and easy.
