Got You Covered Baby
July’s deluded custodians’ contest
My dear writing friend Ann James put it all in and gave birth to this contest. The story is already a long one. Check every component on The Pub. There are judges, moon dances, and microfiction writing starting with the letter P.
Here’s my entry for the microfiction contest using the words pineapple, pub, penguins, and pioneers.
Read before judging, please! And try to understand…this is all on you.

“She had long blonde hair and a desire for good stuff like she hadn’t been alive in a long time.
Going to the Pub was the first thing she could think about. A common friend had been there and was enthusiastic.
Many penguins were hanging out in the Pub, and she wanted to see some of them. They were curious creatures, taken one by one, and all together.
Pioneers would be ashamed of these penguins had they known who they truly were. She didn’t know either.
After chatting a bit with everyone, she clapped for herself. She had taken the best decision of her life by going out to the Pub in those uncertain days. The piñacolada smelt nice because there was real natural pineapple juice in it. She asked for two more.
A smile enlightened her skinny face and the others recognized how lucky they were to have her by their side in a non-stop pit-stop at the Pub.”
