Got A Viral? How To Multiply Success
How to multiply the success from your viral post

I had no idea that this post would go viral. Like all of us, I secretly (or not so secretly) hope that all of my posts go viral.
But this one caught me by surprise. The pattern of views/reads was like most other decent hits. But it took off after the 5th day and has helped me reach heights I didn’t think were possible.

It is still going strong. Very very strong. It has already paid me the membership fees for half a year! That is big by my standards!
Great, so what? We’ve read 18 million brag stories. Why one more?
Yes, I can read your mind.
Wait — this post is about what happened after the post went viral. And how I experimented with getting more value out of it. (But I did have to establish credibility first!)
What did I do to get more value?
- I found a polite way to introduce my other most prominent hits. The ‘Readers’ Insight’ suggests that 32% of my readers are interested in the topic of Writing. So why not showcase my other work on the topic.
- I choose carefully what posts to showcase. I did not add ALL my work. I only picked three that I thought would work.
- Why pick only three?
These three were already successful. There was proof that enough people liked it. It just needs more exposure. These were on the cusp of something.
- POST 1: This was my second biggest hit. I felt it had more potential.
- POST 2: This was on the cusp of going viral. I was wondering if a nudge would help.
- POST 3: This was on the cusp of getting 1K claps.
Did It Work?
I’ll share the results, and you tell me.

Like many of my other successful posts, this one went up and flattened quickly. But after the experiment, it has been steadily performing. I’m not sure how long this will keep working. I’ll keep assessing and make a change if needed.

This post has gotten a second wind! The views/reads are reaching new heights now. It’s one of my favorites (for the picture mainly)!
And it has gone viral!!

My original goal of getting the post to 1K claps is achieved!
There seems to be a steady number of views/reads with some new peaks. But I have my doubts about pushing this one. I’ll leave it there for the next few days and see what happens.
Conclusion:
I didn’t intend to write as much about ‘Writing.’ But I have a very experimental mindset and keep trying different things. And I love to share when it works. If it works for me, maybe it’ll work for you as well.
If you get a viral post, these might help you get more out of it! Good luck! Why leave money on the table if you can take some more?
By the way, I write on a lot of other topics. More about what I write here!
